Meet Josh Rose
As a full time resident of Lake County, I am committed to making our community a safe place to live.
Over the past 15 years, I've enjoyed many things Lake County has to offer with my family and friends, such as hiking the North Country Trail, fishing and kayaking in the Pere Marquette and Pine rivers, exploring the ORV trails and being a loyal patron of the restaurants and businesses of Lake County.
As a deputy in Lake County I took pride in patrolling our area and interacting with the citizens and visitors of our great county. In Lake County, I am a volunteer firefighter in my community, a business owner, family man, church member and licensed realtor.
I meet and speak with residents and soon to be residents, law enforcement and county officials. I hear and see the needs of our community and want to continue my work as your next sheriff.
I will do my best with this website to introduce myself and provide you with information about my professional background, but I welcome your questions, ideas and feedback.
Professional Experience
Leadership
I've obtained over 300 hours of leadership and human performance training while employed in the nuclear power industry including the National Academy for Nuclear Training / INPO First-Line Leadership training. I've held leadership positions such as:

My Commitment to You
Leadership takes commitment, determination and hard work. I plan to lead by example. You will find me in the Sheriff's office, on patrol and present in our community. I will work hard for the people of Lake County and you will see that with action instead of words. It is not about me, this is about all of us.
Making Meaningful Connections
By listening to our community leaders and strengthening relationships with other Law Enforcement agencies, we can better prioritize the needs of our community and bring the necessary resources to ensure the best police services are provided for every tax payer dollar. We can help address the growing mental health, addiction and substance abuse issues in Lake County and provide help for the individuals and the families affected by it.
Planning for Success
The prosecutor's office must have the best information and evidence to make the strongest case possible. Our deputies need the training and resources available so they are set up for success. We will uphold the constitution and respect the rights of citizens while diligently performing our duties with professionalism, integrity and empathy.
It Takes a Village
I plan to pursue all available grant funding that not only impacts the department but also the community. It is not just about the sheriff's department and what charitable events it can provide but how can we also help to support and encourage other community groups to provide programs that promote public safety, sustainability and growth.
